Staff Shout Out image of HumphreyTeachers work hard to make their classrooms places for students to fall in love with learning. But students learn a different lesson when they see their teachers outside of the classroom. Nimitz Middle School teacher Jennifer Humphrey is one of those teachers who cultivates students’ passions in and out of the classroom. One parent recently sent her a Staff Shout Out after noticing Humphrey’s commitment to her students outside the classroom.

“Ms. Humphrey is an amazing teacher, but I want to ‘shout’ about how she ALWAYS goes above and beyond. She does a huge fall festival that is a massive undertaking every single year. She plans service projects even if they fall on a weekend and she is off. My girls have done several SNIPSA events with her, which they love! She organized a Student Of Service event to help feed people experiencing homelessness in downtown San Antonio with Take it to the Streets. The kids were so excited to help and give back to the community alongside their teacher and friends. It is an experience they will always remember.

Ms. Humphrey is always taking time out of her own very busy schedule and it just blows my mind. Thank you, Ms. Humphrey, for not only teaching and inspiring our children in the classroom but teaching them to serve and give back to their community; this is a lesson they will remember forever.”

Thank you, Ms. Humphrey for going above and beyond for your students #theNEISDway
