Congratulations to Churchill High School’s Yesenia Caballero!
This amazing English teacher has been selected for the National Book Foundation (NBF) inaugural cohort of Fellows for the NBF Teacher Fellowship. This is a great honor and new initiative to support and celebrate 6th-12th grade teachers who use innovative methods to make reading for pleasure a part of their students’ school day experience.
Thanks to her efforts, her students have read more than 600 books this year just for fun!
Her innovative idea getting her students reading is turning reading into a competition of sorts making it fun and rewarding for her students.
The National Book Foundation is giving Caballero a stipend and $2,000 for her campus.
