A new feeling at Clear Spring

POSTED JANUARY 2024

This school year has been a unique one for Clear Spring Elementary School. They have a new principal, assistant principal, family specialist and counselor. Clear Spring PE Coach Michele May has spent more than a decade at Clear Spring, so she knows the seismic shift a change in leadership can create. And according to her, Clear Spring is stronger than ever with a great leadership foundation.

“Having a completely new leadership team is a huge change for the school. But these four leaders have helped bring eight events this school year, assisting the school in building a firm foundation with the community. I am so thankful for Principal Dr. Guadalupe Veliz, AP Dr. Danile Galeano, Family Specialist Homero Pena and Counselor Michael Suzich. Dr. Veliz is a passionate advocate for strong communities and children. Dr. Galdeano is dedicated and willing to do whatever is needed. Mr. Suzich is the school’s out-of-the-box thinker and has a heart of gold. Mr. Pena is known for his impeccable work ethic and compassion for families.”

Also essential for family and community engagement is the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). PTA has been absent from Clear Spring for several years, but in October, it was re-established. And the community is excited to get involved.

“I am so happy to be a part of the new Clear Spring PTA,” said parent and PTA Treasurer Jessica Wurz. “It has been great to be able to give back to the teachers, kids and community. The amount of involvement from parents has been so wonderful, and I know that it will only grow from here on out.”
