Pocket Park Updates with Gardopia

POSTED DECEMBER 2023

Pocket park plantersThe Pocket Park at RAMEC (Central Office) has a garden now! Gardopia Gardens, a local non-profit, partnered with North East ISD to help beautify the outdoor space using the raised garden beds in the park. Gardopia installed an irrigation system to keep the plants watered appropriately, and helped employees through a volunteer event where they were able to get their hands dirty and plant a variety of native plants in the raised beds.

“Being a part of this project has been a fantastic journey for all of us at Gardopia Gardens,” said Dominic Dominquez, chief operating officer of Gardopia. “We are proud to have contributed to the creation of this beautiful space for the NEISD Staff and community.”

The Pocket Park serves as a space for employees to step away from their desk and enjoy some fresh air! If you haven’t had a chance to see it in person, you are encouraged to take a tour. You can also check out this video to see a recap of the event.
