Roosevelt honors Summa graduates and mentors

It was an exciting day for Roosevelt High School students and their loved ones attending the Summa Cum Laude reception on April 24.

They were celebrating an achievement that very few high school graduates get to experience. These 84 students were graduating Summa Cum Laude, having earned a 100 plus grade point average.

Each Summa came to the stage to honor a teacher who made a significant impact on his or her education.

Special guests in attendance included Board of Trustees Secretary Sandy Hughey, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy, Associate Superintendent of Instruction Dr. Donna Newman, and Executive Director of Campus Administration Joe Reasons.

"You have worked extremely hard for this accomplishment," said Gottardy. "We look forward to great things for you in the future."

Roosevelt will hold its commencement ceremony on June 11.
