The Legacy of Education Excellence (LEE) High School boys soccer team received their state championship rings at a festive ceremony and celebration Wednesday night, July 21.

“The LEE community donated the money to make sure that each player received a ring at no cost to the player,” said LEE Principal David Crowe. “We were able to completely cover the cost of the rings within a 72-hour period of time thanks to the generosity of our donors.”

The Legacy of Education Excellence Volunteers went 28-1 last school year to win the state championship. Their motto, “Refused To Lose” is engraved on the ring. The gold star above the crest represents the state championship. Each side of the ring is engraved with “#1 in the Nation” because the team was ranked number one in the nation by United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer.

This year’s state championship win marks the teams third straight state title appearance. They lost in 2019 and COVID-19 forced the game to be canceled in 2020.
