Churchill teacher nominated for Trinity Prize

Churchill High School Teacher Stephanie Carrier has been chosen as North East ISD’s nominee for the 2020-2021 Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching Award.

The Trinity Prize was launched in 1982 to honor public school teachers who are set apart in their teaching practice through outstanding classroom performance, leadership in the school and school district, contributions to the education profession, and stellar community service.

Carrier was selected out of group of more than 40 of her peers to represent NEISD at the Trinity Awards, where she will compete against educators from other area school districts. The top two honorees selected that evening will each receive a crystal apple and cash award.

“It’s extremely humbling.I had no idea I was selected by the District so that was kind of a neat,” said Carrier. “I am very appreciative of all the people who have helped me along the way, from Ed White and Churchill. This whole thing is more about a team effort than it is about an individual. Even though I feel very honored, I know, this honor would have never happened without everybody around me.”

Churchill Librarian Charlotte Gustafson feels honored to work with Carrier.

“I think one of Stephanie’s greatest strengths is her ability to connect with people,” said Gustafson. “She goes above and beyond, which I think is what sets her apart from others. She serves not only her students and her classes, but she also has a strong commitment to our entire campus.”

Good Luck Stephanie and thank you for doing it #theNEISDway.
