North East ISD is one of Forbes magazine’s 2020 America’s Best Employers.

“I am humbled that our employees have honored NEISD as one of America's best employers,” said Dr. Sean Maika, Superintendent of Schools.  "Over the years, district leadership has strived to create an environment in which employees feel safe, secure and confident to innovate and share their gifts and talents.”

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to identify the companies liked best by employees with its annual ranking of America’s best employers. They surveyed 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. This year’s survey was taken before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees were asked to rank working conditions, salary and potential for growth.

“This year, our employees faced personal trials and professional challenges,” said Maika. “Through it all, NEISD’s employees demonstrated that teamwork is the most important ingredient to surviving a crisis. It is an honor to be recognized by Forbes and Statista, however, it is beyond an honor that our employees put NEISD on this prestigious list.”

NEISD ranked number 50 out of 100 in the state of Texas. Only six other San Antonio-based employers made the list including H-E-B and USAA. Click here to view the full list.

North East ISD began in 1949 in the reorganization of the Texas Education System under the Gilmer-Aiken Law, which combined seven separate common school districts with a total of 756 students.
