North East ISD artists showcased their talents at the Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event (Jr VASE) Region 20W event Saturday, May 4, at Harlan High School in San Antonio. Congratulations to all middle school student artists whose artworks took top honors. NEISD elementary student artists also took highest honors at the Texas Elementary Art Meet (TEAM) Saturday, May 11, at Castle Hills Elementary. TEAM is the VASE event for elementary students.
The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. For Jr VASE students are interviewed by a certified art judge and then the interview and artwork scores are combined to make an overall rating or score. For TEAM the teachers bring the artwork to be judged by a certified art judge. NEISD earned 755 top ratings for Jr VASE and TEAM.
