Johnson Cheer competes at UCA Nationals

Cheerleaders from Johnson High School finished among the top squads in the nation at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida. The Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Game Day squads competed against the top cheerleading teams in the country, with over 29 states represented at the Feb. 8-10 competition. 

The Freshman, JV and Varsity cheerleaders combined to compete in the Super Varsity Game Day Division on the first day of competition. Out of 60 teams, Johnson finished in the top four and advanced directly from the preliminary round into the game day finals. In the final round, the Johnson cheerleaders earned a silver medal, placing 2nd place in the nation.

The Johnson Varsity competition squad went on to compete in the Medium Varsity Division I category with more than 70 teams in their division. They were one of just 32 teams to advance from the preliminary round to the semi-finals.

The JV competition squad competed in the Small Junior Varsity Division with more than 30 squads in their division. They were one of two teams to advance directly from the preliminary round to the final round. They ended their season with a bronze medal, finishing 3rd in the nation. Congratulations to the Johnson cheerleaders for another successful competition season!
