Ridgeview students take on STEAM snowman challenge

Students at Ridgeview Elementary School accepted the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” challenge on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Students in classes from each grade level were tasked with building a snowman out of materials available in their classrooms. The snowman could not be larger than three feet, or smaller than 12 inches. Students were also challenged to incorporate math, reading, writing, and science into their creation.

“The students synergized to create this class project while sharpening the saw and having fun in their creation,” said Ridgeview Principal Veronica Garza.

Judges from Central Office helped decide the winners on Wednesday, Dec. 19. The winning class from each grade level will earn an extra field trip in the spring semester. Some of the field trip options include a San Antonio Rampage game, a trip to Incredible Pizza or a nearby bowling alley.
