MacArthur PALS donate to Presa Community Center

Students involved in the Peer Assistance Leadership and Service (PALS) program at MacArthur High School donated $4,000 to the Presa Community Center on Friday, Dec. 14. The Presa Community Center helps improve lives by providing access to needed resources and tools for social and personal transformation. Franki Martin, Presa Community Center Vice President, says much of the donated money will go toward youth services like tutoring, counseling, an after-school program, and a summer program.

The donation was raised during MacArthur’s annual “Mactoberfest” fall festival. The campus courtyard was transformed into a fun event with food, music, games prizes, and more. School clubs and organizations also set up booths and games. More than 1,000 people attended this year’s event.

“Mactoberfest took a lot of work from everyone involved and it was fun to see the entire MacArthur community show up and for us to be able to turn such a fun event into something that helps others,” said student Spencer Stull.
