Tejeda students collect money for Toys for Tots

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) at Tejeda Middle School launched a collection drive in conjunction with Learning Express to raise money for the Toys for Tots organization this holiday season. The idea was suggested by NJHS President Mia Wilson and was quickly adopted by the entire student body. NJHS made the collection effort a contest between grade levels, with Tejeda Principal David Crowe agreeing to a dance in honor of the grade level that collected the most donations.

The contest was close leading up to the deadline but on the final day of collection, an anonymous $100 donation put the 7th-grade class over the top. The combined total at Tejeda was $1,675. Learning Express matched that donation, raising the total for Toys for Tots to $3,350!
