NEISD middle school students attend Superintendent Luncheon

On Friday, Nov. 30, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian G. Gottardy welcomed 14 North East ISD middle school students for his annual Superintendent Student Luncheon at the District’s Central Office.

Students were selected by their school principals to attend and share ideas and issues they encounter on an everyday basis at their campuses. The students, representing all 14 schools, enjoyed a lunch prepared by Chef Rohan and the Lee High School Culinary Program. They discussed a variety of topics such as cyberbullying, what improvements they feel their school could use and how technology affects learning. Students were asked about their plans for the future and whether they felt prepared for high school and beyond.

This event allows the Superintendent to hear directly from students. It is also a great opportunity for students to discuss their experiences and ideas, along with listening to the opinions of other students within the District. Dr. Gottardy hosted similar luncheons for elementary and high school students earlier this month.
