Cheerleaders from Johnson High School competed in the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Regional competition in Austin over the Thanksgiving break. The cheer squads performed well at the contest, with Johnson’s Varsity squad winning first place in the Medium Varsity division. Johnson’s JV cheer squad finished 2nd place in the Small Junior Varsity division. Both squads combined to finish in 1st place and claim the title of Southwest Regional Champions in the Super Varsity game day division. The Johnson varsity competition cheer squad, the Junior Varsity competition squad, and the game day squad all earned bids to compete at the UCA National competition Feb. 8-10, in Orlando, Florida.
