North East ISD elementary schools participated in the Elementary Track & Field Meet Nov. 5-7 at Heroes Stadium. Students, parents and staff look forward to this yearly event that celebrates the importance of physical wellness. This year’s event was a huge success and for the first time ever, it took place in the fall. The change in season made for delightful weather that allowed athletes to give their peak performances.
Fourth- and fifth-grade students from across the District were invited to participate in a number of events. They included Softball Throw, Shot Put, Obstacle Course, Standing Broad Jump, 800M Run, 100M Run, 200M Run, and a 4x100 M Relay. To add to the fun this year, a number of schools’ mascots participated in the Mascot Run.
