MacArthur JROTC cadets tour USS Lexington
Cadets in the MacArthur JROTC program had the opportunity to board the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi. On Saturday, Oct. 20, 42 cadets took part in the ‘Live Aboard’ experience on the decommissioned World War II aircraft carrier. Students were treated to a 3-D movie called “Guardians of the Seas” in a theater located in the ship. Cadets also participated in a flag ceremony, self-guided tour and an after-hours educational scavenger hunt. The Lexington also hosted a haunted house within the lower decks of the ship complete with dozens of actors in costume. To end the night, ghost stories were read on the main flight deck.
“The ‘Live Aboard’ education, coupled with the ghost stories, made the overall trip memorable,” said cadet Taylor Rodgers.
