NEISD cafeteria kitchens on a roll with 31 perfect health inspection scores

The North East ISD School Nutrition Services teams across the District are on a roll with 31 perfect scores this year. The San Antonio Metro Health District makes surprise visits to every campus at least once a semester in order to perform health inspections.

The report consists of 47 questions that are divided into three different categories. Time and temperature of food, for example, is weighed heavily. Each morning the cafeteria staff must check the temperature in the coolers. SA Metro Health also checks to see if the food has been prepared for the correct amount of time and at the appropriate temperatures, in addition to observing if the food was cooled properly before storing.

”Our kitchen staff is very conscientious and aware of food safety,” said Liz Anders, Training Coordinator of NEISD School Nutrition Services.

Parents can rest assured that NEISD takes this process seriously and is proud of their 31 perfect scores. For more information about School Nutrition Services, please visit https://www.neisd.net/Page/273
