Churchill nationally recognized for academic and swimming success

The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) has announced their annual award recipients for the 2017-2018 School Year. The Churchill Swimming and Diving Teams earned accolades in the following areas:

Swimming All America---Senior, Samuel Willstrop was recognized as a Swimming All America in the 100 Breaststroke ranking 83rd in the nation. The 400 Freestyle Relay Team comprised of sophomores Samuel Player and Jacob Peterson and seniors Wyatt Cronk and Sam Willstrop were also recognized as Swimming All America, finishing 69th in the national rankings.  The NISCA recognizes the top 100 fastest times achieved nationally in each high school swimming event as All America.

Scholar Team Award---Churchill was recognized for academic excellence through the NISCA Scholar Team Award where both the boys and girls teams achieved Gold Medal status by maintaining a team GPA over 3.75 for the season. Both teams finished in the top 10 in the nationally for the award with the boys ranked 5th and the girls 9th.

 

Academic All-America---The following Varsity Lettermen were recognized as NISCA Academic All-America for maintaining a GPA of at least a 93.750 over the course of their high school career:
