North East ISD celebrates Foreign Exchange students

North East ISD celebrated more than a dozen Foreign Exchange students and their host families during a breakfast at Piper Bass Memorial Student Center.

The breakfast is hosted every year by the North East Council of PTAs. This year NEISD welcomed students from Thailand, Japan, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

“I adore my school here,” said one of the students. “I got to do theatre and sing every day. This experience has let me learn more about myself.”

The students shared what they love about NEISD schools. It was unanimous; they enjoy the wide variety of classes they can select, playing sports and really love their teachers. Many exchange students shared how compassionate their teachers are and how much they enjoy learning from them. They also talked about how the class selection and clubs really gave them a sense of purpose and helped them figure out what they want to do after graduation. These are experiences many of them said they wouldn’t have gotten in their home countries.
