Two exceptional students from Garner Middle School were selected to kick off the North East ISD Board of Trustees regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 13. Eighth graders Abigail Gangoso and Sebastian Alfonso led NEISD leaders and community members in an invocation and pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags before the business meeting began.
Abigail led the invocation. Garner principal John Bojescul described her as a model student among her peers. Abigail is part of the Gifted and Talented (GT) program and is a gifted actor in Garner’s theater program. She is also the Drama Club President and is looking forward to performing in the upcoming school musical, Frozen. Abigail was joined by her parents Dennis and Hannah Gangoso and her sisters, Audrey and Anna.
Sebastian led the audience in the pledge. Principal Bojescual described him as an honor student and talented musician who excels in the Dual Language and AVID programs. Sebastian also plays basketball and is a leader among his fellow athletes on and off the court. Sebastian was joined by his parents Luis and Abril Alfonso, and his sister Sofia.
