NEISD board members get sworn in

Steve Hilliard official photo On Nov. 16, at a special board meeting, a new member of the North East ISD Board of Trustees was sworn into office, along with four trustees who won their re-election bids.

Steve Hilliard won the race for District 6 and will now join the other trustees in their mission to serve the NEISD community.

“I am humbled the residents of District 6 have elected me to be their voice on the NEISD Board of Trustees,” Hilliard said. “I ran on the platform of being a strong voice for our children, parents, teachers and the taxpayers. I’m ready to get to work.”

Four other NEISD Board members return for another term.

Sandy Hughey, District 1; Omar Leos, District 3; David Beyer, District 4; and Shannon Grona, District 5, will serve NEISD for an additional four years.

After being sworn in, Board officers were also selected. Shannon Grona will serve as President, Sandy Winkley will serve as Vice President and Sandy Hughey will be Secretary.
