You can have it all at NEISD

Lauren and teacher Ms. Kah with text

“I don’t want to pick just one path. I’m in high school. I want to try everything. That’s what I love so much about Churchill.”

Churchill High School junior Lauren Wheeler considers herself lucky. She doesn’t have to choose between two of her favorite things – art and academics. Because of that, she sees results in the classroom and on the canvas.

“I’ve always loved art, and recently, I’ve become more confident in myself and my artwork,” said Lauren. “Churchill art is great, and our teachers are all amazing. They really uplift students, and they give us so much confidence.”

That confidence is now kicking in where it counts. Lauren already has big plans for after graduation. She hopes to major in Chemistry and minor in Fine Arts in college. She says the fire and confidence to go after all the things she loves has been stoked at Churchill.

“At Churchill, I have amazing teachers who have helped me broaden my horizons and become a better student. Mr. Bloomer definitely encourages us to have different paths and it’s really cool to see how people aren’t just masters of one here. They’re a jack of all trades. It’s great to be so involved in my academics and also maintain my artwork and pursue the things I’m passionate about.”

At North East ISD, your favorite subjects and passions can live in harmony. And students just like Lauren are better for it.
