Lina has been a PTA mom for eight years and a homeroom mom for multiple classes at Huebner Elementary School. In addition to her volunteer efforts, she regularly donates meals and gift cards from her family’s restaurant, and she donates school supplies for students. This in itself is a tremendous contribution, but she also did something extraordinary for the school’s staff this year. She helped schedule COVID-19 vaccines for more than 30 school employees. As we all know, especially in the beginning, getting an appointment took time and effort going online and making phone calls. So, she decided to do the leg work for them. She worked four phones with her family members to make sure that any staff member, and their family members who wanted one, got an appointment to get a vaccine. She worked from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. for three weeks to get it done. She is always giving back, and this was an exceptional way that she served the Huebner community.
