•      Thank you for visiting my website.  I was born in Phoenix, Arizona but grew up here in San Antonio.  I graduated high school from Saint Mary's Hall; a private college preparatory co-ed school.  During my time at SMH, I was given a multitude of opportunities to broaden my horizons.  I was able to study abroad in Austria learning the history, culture, and language in addition to touring Germany and Hungary.  I was also fortunate enough to study abroad in Ireland with the Irish American Cultural Society.  My extracurricular time was spent playing field hockey and volunteering with the Last Chance Forever bird sanctuary.  I also became the photo editor of La Reata, our yearbook, which was a real treat!

After high school, I ventured north for cooler weather.  I earned my B.A. from Purdue University located in West Lafayette, IN in Communications and minored in English.  While attending Purdue University, I had the joy of being a Kappa Kappa Gamma, where leadership, academics, and participating in philanthropies were encouraged.  We assisted with the area Special Olympics every year in addition to volunteering at a retirement home nearby.  I enjoyed the BIG 10 football games in Ross-Ade Stadium and basketball under Gene Keady.  Once again, I became involved in the school yearbook.  I became the copy of editor of the Purdue Debris.  That was quite an undertaking but it was incredible!  My yearbook time occurred during the 30th anniversary of the first moon landing.  We were fortunate enough to meet the eighteen Purdue astronaut alumni present for a reunion!

Upon graduation, I married my high school sweetheart Kevin and spent time in the oil industry in Houston while my husband was attending U of H Optometry School.  I volunteered to be on the board in charge of scholarships for AFVA, the American Foundation for Vision Awareness.  During this time I decided that my calling was teaching.  I have also served on the board for BUMC's Child's Morning Out program, in addition to serving on the MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) steering committee as a financial leader and the Moppets Co-Coordinator.  I absolutely love learning, love guiding future generations, and want to pass that on to you!

I received my teaching certificate after we moved back to San Antonio.  I am certified to teach Kindergarten through 8th grade.  I also have my certificate to teach ESL (English as a second language).  Most recently I became certified in Gifted and Talented instruction.  My goal is for every student grow more than they thought possible.  As educators, we can never tell where our influence stops.  My job is to inspire the possibility of finding out more than you thought you wanted to find out.

I have been married for twenty three years. Together we have a sixteen year-old-boy Nathaniel who will be a junior at Piper High School.  We also have a bloodhound named Waylon, a cat named Merle, and recent rescue cat named Cash.  In my spare time, I like to spend time with my friends, training for triathlons, gardening, reading, sewing, fishing, and cooking.  I love adventures as well!  I have a bucket list of National Parks I'd like to visit and I'm working on checking those items off.
