Ms. Stephanie Snyder

Welcome - I'm excited about starting my 6th year at the STEM Academy and I'm thrilled to be teaching 8th grade math! 

I believe that every child deserves a rigorous, quality education and I am committed to helping students discover their strengths this year. STEM is an honors program and my students will be earning high school credit for either Algebra I or Geometry. Please encourage your student to ask questions and come to tutoring. I am here to help!

About Me:

I was born and raised in San Antonio. I attended NEISD schools and graduated from Madison High School (Go Mavs!). I completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Mathematics Education at UTSA in 2000 and I completed student teaching at Bush Middle School in 7th grade honors and GT math. I then moved to Austin and ran a Sylvan Learning Center for four years before moving overseas to complete my Master's Degree. After completing my MBA at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, I moved to London and worked for an investment bank. When I returned to the US, I spent two years working for a start-up, followed by five years working for a non-profit educational organization. I have traveled to more than 40 countries on 4 continents, although my passport is admittedly dusty these days. 

I currently live in Northeast San Antonio with my two children (Sophie is 12; Matthew is 11) and our menagerie of pets.

Tutoring Schedule for 2023-2024:

Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7:45 - 8:15 a.m. 

Wednesday afternoons from 3:50 - 4:15 p.m.
