Shout out for Kristen Aceves

POSTED JANUARY 2024

Kristen Aceves"We are truly fortunate to have her, and the world needs to know it.”

What’s your definition of a great teacher?

For Stephanie Morrisey, it’s Bush Middle School teacher Kristen Aceves.

“Mrs. Aceves has truly made Barbara Bush Middle School a better campus for our North East ISD population and she has grown each and every educator and individual here because of who she is and what she brings every day to our school. We are truly fortunate to have her, and the world needs to know it.”

Morrisey is the Special Education Campus Coordinator at Bush, so she has seen the impact Aceves has made on her students, family and peers firsthand.

“Kristen Aceves is the truest definition of an educator. She may fall under the label of a Special Education Teacher, but she wears many more superhero capes than just that of the illustrious Special Educator. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow teacher, administrator, and/or staff member. She runs several extracurricular activities here at Barbara Bush that one would think she has completely overloaded herself with so much, how does she sleep? She truly has the best attitude with every task in front of her and does not let each student or adult feel that positivity when they come into her presence. As a former Teacher of the Year and Trinity Prize Winner, I think it is fair to say that her peers view her as a leader as well.”

Thank you, Mrs. Aceves, for leading the way #theNEISDway!
