Bryan Norwood makes impact on parents and student

POSTED DECEMBER 2023

Bryan Norwood and studentYour seeds planted are flourishing with our IVY League daughter.”

Our principals work tirelessly for our students--arriving early and staying late. They put in the work to cultivate positive cultures on our campuses and empower successful students. That student success is often only fully realized once our students have graduated from our schools. So, getting updates about our students after they’ve moved on means a whole lot.

Recently, the mother of a former Roosevelt High School student sent Roosevelt Principal Brian Norwood an update on her NEISD graduate, letting him know the seeds he planted are flourishing.

“Principal Norwood,

Happy Principal Appreciation Month! This is a perfect opportunity to say Thank you! My daughter was in the class of 2020 and attended ETA. The ETA program at Roosevelt HS is absolutely outstanding! Every ETA teacher knew their student by name; her math teacher truly prepared her for Calculus in College. The rigor and high standards of ETA helped prepare my daughter to succeed at Cornell University!!! I am happy to share my daughter is graduating in May 2024 as a Mechanical Engineer Major. Our family is forever grateful for your leadership, Mr. Norwood, during the pandemic and for having a HS modified graduation in 2020. We salute your commitment to your students, faculty and staff. We definitely appreciate your dedication to the Roosevelt community. Your seeds planted are flourishing with our IVY League daughter, who plans to give back to her community and empower youth to embrace STEM careers.

Respectfully,

Mr. Giovianne Washington and Dr. Rosalva Washington
