Madison HOSA Students are going to STATE competition

Every year Texas HOSA holds the Area Spring Leadership Conference. This gives students the opportunity to network with other schools and HOSA members from the Austin and San Antonio area as well as show off their hard work on the competitive level. Some competitions started with an online knowledge exam in December while others go straight to Area or State. This past weekend Madison HOSA had students competing in the following areas: EMT, which has round 1 in December with a knowledge exam. Public Service Announcement, in which students have to create a 30 second PSA on a given topic and this years topic was "Stop the Bleed". Job Seeking Skills, which is the completion of a resume, a job application and a personal interview. Life Support Skills, which is CPR and First Aid but for students who qualify with a 504 or Special Education. Extemporaneous Health Poster is where students are given a topic and are then asked to use 3 hours of time to give their artistic interpretation of this topic. Creative problem Solving is just as it sounds, give them a problem and they have to solve it with outside the box thinking. Healthy Lifestyle, round 1 knowledge test, is for a student to make lifestyle changes and showcase the effect they had on them. Community Awareness is for students to pick a topic they feel the community doesn't know enough about and present it over several months within the community and then at competition. The following were the results.
