Roosevelt JROTC Drill qualifies for Nationals

The Roosevelt High School Rough Riders JROTC Armed and Unarmed Drill Team competed at the 5th Brigade JROTC Drill Team Championships on Jan. 6. The competition featured top competitive teams from the United States Army 5th Brigade (eight state region) to include Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and others. There were as many as 25 schools competing for the 5th Brigade Overall Championship in Color Guard, Inspection, Regulation, and Exhibition drill. The defending 5th Brigade Champions Riderettes placed 1st overall in the unarmed category and the San Juan Guard placed 2nd overall in the armed category earning both teams advancement to the Army National Championship in Louisville Kentucky this April.  Additionally, both teams won their respective North East ISD championships.
