Roosevelt graduate helps current cadets set their sights on success

Jennifer Windle spent countless hours at the Roosevelt High School air rifle range. Last week, she returned to her alma mater to offer current JROTC students some helpful tips ahead of their spring semester matches.

Windle is a senior at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and a member of the ROTC program and university air rifle team. She's also a former star shooter at Roosevelt and a previous Battalion Commander.

"I absolutely love helping out," said Windle. "I've been home on Christmas break and this was just the perfect opportunity for me to come back and visit my alma mater! I was excited to share the things I've learned on the college level with my old battalion."

Roosevelt cadets left Windle's practice session with a better understanding of position stances, breathing and other tangible takeaways that will be useful during competitions.
