Fitness and nutrition come first on Heroes for Health Day

Fitness and nutrition are always top of mind for North East ISD students, but Heroes for Health Day takes it to the next level. Community heroes answered the call to promote exercising and healthy eating choices during the annual Heroes for Health Day event on Thursday, Feb. 27. Several NEISD elementary campuses hosted interactive events with JROTC cadets, NEISD police, local military members, fire, police and sheriff departments leading exercise drills, answering questions and providing nutrition tips to intrigued students.

The Bexar County School Boards Coalition and Go Public team up to highlight the importance of fitness and nutrition throughout San Antonio-area’s ISDs. As role models in the community and schools, the dedicated men and women who serve our communities inspire students to make healthy choices.

Take a look at some of the healthy heroes in action across NEISD below.
