MacArthur senior named Baumberger Scholar

MacArthur High School senior Amanda Chandia was just named as a 2019 Baumberger Scholar.

She is a second generation recipient, as her mother once received the same honor. This year, the Baumberger Endowment awarded only 87 scholarships to 37 different high schools. As an awardee, Amanda will receive $5,000 per year for four years when attending a state-supported or non-denominational college/university in Texas. She received the good news from Principal Pete Martinez and Counselor Brandy Weaver on April 23.

Baumberger Scholars receive funds for education in the basic arts and sciences to Texas’ youth.  The Baumberger Endowment is a private, independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization guided by specific requirements stated in Mr. Baumberger's Will and by policies set by the Trustees of the Endowment.  Over 3,400 scholarships totaling over $48 million have been awarded since 1979.
