Lopez students lead January board meeting

The North East ISD Board of Trustees met for its regular public board meeting on Monday, Jan. 14. Two exceptional students from Lopez Middle School kicked off the meeting with the invocation and pledge. Carson Green lead the invocation while Kiarah Lopez-Morelli recited the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags. 

Carson is a starter for the undefeated District championship football team and also plays basketball and runs track. Carson has been ranked the number one running back in the nation. He also excels in the orchestra, participates in NJHS, Peer Assisted Leaders and to top it off is a straight-A student. Carson is a true representation of a 360 NEISD student.

Kiarah is the basketball manager and is always ready to help out the team in any way she can. She also excels on the Lopez debate team.

CPS presents NEISD with $74,048.80 check

CPS Energy presented North East ISD with a check for $74,048.80 as part of CPS Energy‘s Demand Response Program. This program is a voluntary program that pays incentives to commercial and industrial customers for curtailing electric their load at peak times during the summer months. In the summer of 2018, North East Independent School District participated in the Demand Response Program and curtailed an average of 1,058 kilowatts.

NEISD Council of PTA President, Monica Pipes, presented the annual State of the PTA Report to the North East ISD Board of Trustees. Information consisted of major council events, meeting updates, training initiatives, council membership and more.
