Johnson JROTC hosts Civilian Marksmanship Program

Johnson High School’s JROTC is one of two programs in the state to host Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Summer Marksmanship Clinics. Twenty-two Junior Air Rifle Marksman traveled to Johnson to receive training from certified CMP trainers on June 21-23. These clinics teach intermediate and advanced rifle marksmanship skills to junior shooters and their adult leaders.

The CMP trainers are comprised of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rifle teams from across the country, including West Virginia University, Texas Christian University and Ohio State University. JROTC cadets enjoyed the opportunity to improve their skills under the watchful eye of trained professionals.
