Have a seat!
Visitors at the North East ISD Sports Park Disc Golf Course now have a sturdy place to cool off and take a break.
It’s all thanks to a recent Eagle Scout Project from Jedrek Jarzombek, a STEM Academy freshman at Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School.
Jedrek, his fellow scouts and his parents all chipped in to successfully refurbish picnic tables located throughout the Disc Golf Course. After visiting the park and determining the needs of the project and a timeline to complete it, he was given final approval to move forward with his plan.
Next, Jedrek raised funds to purchase all the supplies through popcorn sales. He then purchased the supplies, wood, bolts and stain before cutting and staining wood for the upgraded picnic tables at home. After that, they disassembled the old picnic tables and started replacing the wood. Finally, they placed the upgraded picnic tables throughout the course for visitors to enjoy.
The refurbished picnic tables provide much-needed rest areas for disc golfers, enhancing their overall experience at Sports Park. Way to go, Jedrek!
