Boots, Bling and Big Dreams Gala raises thousands for NEISD students
Thanks to our generous community, the North East Educational Foundation’s (NEEF) Boots, Bling and Big Dreams Gala raised a total of $360,831.00.
Pedrotti’s Ranch was a perfect setting for the event. Guests got the opportunity to witness the success of several past NEEF-funded projects, enjoy music from The Rick Cavender band and MacArthur High School’s Grupo Folklorico Magnifico, and LEE High School’s Mariachi Unido Ensemble.
“This is a fantastic evening. I loved learning about the different grants that NEEF has supported,” Gala attendee Fernando Rocha.
NEEF’s presenting sponsor, Gordon Hartman, founder of the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, was on hand to talk about the collaboration between the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation and NEISD.
This year’s Fund-a-Need project was for a 50-foot Rappel Tower, the first of it’s kind outside of a military installation. The rappel tower will help students and staff gain confidence, trust, character, motivation, and teamwork. While the tower is being built by the JROTC department, it will serve as the location for JROTC national competitions, as well as serving other NEISD programs, staff, and community members.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our PTA volunteers as well as the JROTC volunteers who assisted with setup and ushering guests to their table. Johnson High School’s photography department did a phenomenal job capturing our special moments as well as the artists from NESA who completed some live art at the event.
NEEF’s mission is to raise funds to develop and expand educational opportunities in NEISD schools. For the 2022-2023 school year, more than $271,00 was distributed in classroom grants for innovative projects. NEEF wants to give a Texas-sized ‘THANK YOU!’ to everyone who attended and helped us raise over $350,000.
