Celebrate School Board Recognition Month #theNEISDway

January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to celebrate the dedicated board members who play a vital role in our District.

Have you ever wondered… what is a school board and what do the elected members do? We asked a group of students at Jackson-Keller Elementary School to share their thoughts and ideas. They did not disappoint! Enjoy their responses in the video below.

The North East ISD Board of Trustees is made up of seven elected leaders who establish policies for operating the District and ensuring its financial viability. They also employ the superintendent, approve the budget and monitor expenditures, set the tax rate or call for a bond or tax rate election. They are not paid and dedicate many hours in service of our District.

NEISD is fortunate to have a group of committed leaders working hard to ensure our children receive the best education possible in a safe, secure learning environment.
