Congressman Tony Gonzales tours iCSI

Tristan Lee and Rep. Tony Gonzales  Francisco, Roselyn and Tristan lead the tour

"I look around and see all of these young faces and I know there's going to be a moment and a time when you help save this country," said Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23).

North East ISD's newest magnet, The Institute of CyberSecurity & Innovation (iCSI), welcomed Congressman Tony Gonzales today. Seniors Tristan Lee, Francisco Rodriguez Vara and Roselyn Schnabel led Gonzales on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility. These ETA and DATA students are well versed in the cyber industry. All three are members of Roosevelt High School's nationally recognized CyberPatriot team.

After the tour, Gonzales spoke with iCSI students about his experience working as a cryptologist in the U.S. Navy.

"My background is in the military, but many of y'all are going to go into the world and do a bunch of different things – whether that's in the military or the private sector," said Gonzales. "There's a way for folks just like you who are going to grow up to be cyber experts who will serve your country in an untraditional way."
