NEISD bands hit all the right notes at Fall Marching Festival

All seven North East ISD high school bands took the field in front of a packed house at Heroes Stadium Tuesday, Sept. 28. The annual Fall Marching Festival is an opportunity to showcase every band while they use it as a dress rehearsal before the competition season officially begins.

Renowned judges from across the nation evaluated each band's performance. In addition, oral and written critiques are provided to each band, along with a video of their performance.

"The event has been going on for about 25 years," said Philip Flynn, NEISD Fine Arts Director of Music. "We held it at Comalander Stadium and then when Heroes opened it moved here. It's sort of a pre-competition where our groups get to come and get evaluations. This allows them to tweak and modify their productions as they enter the competitive marching band season."

The marching bands took the field in the following order: MacArthur, Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE), Churchill, Roosevelt, Madison, Reagan and Johnson.

Good luck to all of our bands during competition season!
