Vineyard Ranch Elementary School students roll out the red, white and blue carpet for veterans on Veterans Day.

Veterans

More than 50 veterans from nearly every military branch paraded through the Vineyard Ranch parking lot, honking horns and waving as hundreds of adoring students waved American flags and shouted, “Thank you for your service.”

It was festive, tear-jerking and awe-inspiring.

After the parade, everyone gathered in the amphitheater, where students sang to the veterans, including the Armed Forces Medley, which brought the veterans to their feet.

The students also got the opportunity to hear from the Grand Marshal of the parade, Army Colonel Robin Lea. She’s served more than 24 years in the Army, including serving during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Her twins attend Hill Middle School.

To all the men and women who have served, thank you!
