LEED Gold School

The US Green Building Council maintains a rating system for new buildings. Planning, design, materials sourcing, and ongoing resource conservation are submitted to the council to receive a rating. Based on the points received, buildings may be designated one of 4 rating: certified, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Cibolo Green Elementary was designated a LEED Gold facility upon opening in 2010, the first LEED-certified building in NEISD, and the first LEED Gold school in Bexar County. Today, Cibolo Green is one of 4 LEED certified schools in NEISD.
