I began my education in North East ISD as a first grader at Jackson Keller Elementary School, and Nimitz Middle School.  I graduated from Lee High School and then went on to graduate from Trinity University with a bachelor's degree in Biology and a Mathematics minor. After college I worked in a genetic counseling office and a cytogenetic laboratory.  I was involved in tissue culture, microscopy, chromosomal analysis, photography and basic laboratory practices.

After realizing that was not the career for me, I returned to Trinity and received  my Master of Arts in Teaching. I began teaching  at Lee. I joined the initial team of teachers to found ISA.  I have been committed to ISA since then.   I have taught Biology I, Chemistry I, AP Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Neurobiology, and AP Environmental Science in my teaching career.  I have mentored Trinity interns and new teachers.  I have attended numerous AP Summer Institutes.  I enjoy teaching students scientific thinking and doing experiments.

My life outside of school is filled with my family.  My husband Jeff, and three daughters, Kristin, Erin and Sarah.

  • Here is the link to my Bitmoji classroom.   Most of the information about our classes will be found in Google Classroom.  Those codes will be shared with the students the first few days of class.  Please feel free to email if you have questions or concerns.

  • I believe students are capable of higher level thinking and planning this is a daily activity fro all modern adults.  Students deserve a chance to work on challenging materials and labs and I want to encourage students to challenge themselves.  I believe in making class fun and engaging for the students.  I try to plan so that every student has an opportunity to learn in their preferred manner.  I think discussions, both small and large groups can lead to impactful learning.  I want students who can think and analyze data as scientists, who will be productive and active community members.
