Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Arts- Political Science & Religious Studies Master of Arts- Education & Human Development
The 21-22 school year is my sixth year as the Internship and Service Learning Coordinator at ISA! It is such a privilege to be a part of students' growth and experiential learning through the Internship, Service, and International Exchange programs at ISA. A little about me: I grew up in Wisconsin and Chicago, and moved to Colorado to attend college. There, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Denver and later returned to CU's Graduate School of Education to earn my MA in Education & Human Development with a concentration in Teaching in Diverse Contexts. Prior to moving to San Antonio and joining ISA in 2016, I taught English in South Korea, worked with students in career and college readiness programs in both traditional and alternative high schools, provided case management services to families in crisis with several nonprofits, and managed a nonprofit Family Support program focused on workforce development. I strongly believe in the importance of service and have volunteered in homeless shelters while living in Chicago and Denver, as well as schools and orphanages in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. I have also worked with women and children as a doula and childbirth educator, and have a passion for improving maternal and infant health and well-being. I currently volunteer on a regular basis with Planned Parenthood, RAICES, and Animal Defense League. I have two children, 3 rescue dogs, and one cat who keep me very busy. In my free time, I love traveling, spending time outdoors, volunteering, exercising and doing yoga, reading, hiking, and exploring San Antonio and the Hill Country.
