Ms. Danielle Ortiz de Orue

Ms. Ortiz is a native of Fredericksburg, TX, where she attended Fredericksburg High School. At Fredericksburg High School, she was an All-State Trumpet player. After high school, she attended Texas State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. While at Texas State, Ms. Ortiz demonstrated musical versatility in ensembles such as the Bobcat Marching Band, Bobcat Basketball Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Women's Choir.
 
Ms. Ortiz is a proud member of Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity, where she served as President.
She is coming to us from Roan Forest Elementary School in NEISD. While at Roan Forest, she was named the 2024 Teacher of the Year. She also presented at TMEA with Sonido, a percussion ensemble, which was an Invited Ensemble in 2024.
 
Outside of music, Ms. Ortiz enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as her 3-year-old dog, Stella.
 
Ms. Ortiz is excited for this next adventure and can’t wait to get started. She looks forward to working with Mr. Burnette. Ms. Ortiz will be teaching beginner brass classes, Symphonic Band, and Beginner Saxophone. Go Defenders!
