Welcome to World Cultures & American History!!

  • Hello, my name is Mrs. Coryell and I am your 8th Grade U.S. History or 6th Grade World Cultures teacher!  I'm so excited to be teaching History; studying history is my passion! I can't wait to guide you to explore our past, relate it to our present, and help shape your role in our future!

This is my sixth year teaching at Driscoll Middle School - and my sixth year in San Antonio! - but I have been teaching middle school for 21 years.  I am originally from Southern California and began my career teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Arts, & Social Studies in Norwalk, California (near Los Angeles).  I received both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from California State University, Long Beach.

I have an amazing family who I love very much!  I have a husband and two daughters, Hannah who is 8 and Joanna who is 6.  We also have three dogs - Chloe, Fiona, & Tiana.  As a family, we love visiting National Parks, amusement parks (we seriously miss Disneyland), museums, and zoos.

I can't wait to get to know each one of you and your families!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Coryell
