The mission of Clara Driscoll Middle School is to provide real world and innovative experiences in order for our students to become positive and productive citizens.
Vision
Our students will become self-motivated, respectful, and confident through the collaboration of our faculty, staff, and community.
Education Approach
At Driscoll, our main priority is to guide and prepare all students for a future that is college and career ready with endless possibilities. Our daily goal is to challenge students with individualized and engaging experiences that encourage exploration, connection, reflection, communication, and application at school and in their everyday lives. We strive to move beyond the four walls of the classroom to serve not only academic needs, but also social and emotional needs. All students are offered opportunities to collaborate in a safe environment with other peers, to showcase their leadership skills and express their gifts and talents by participating in clubs that incorporate cross-curricular subjects and more!

Clara Driscoll was born on April 2, 1881 in St. Mary’s, Texas, on Copano Bay. Both of her grandfathers had fought in the Texas Revolution. Her father was a wealthy rancher and banker, and Clara was educated in Texas, New York City, and France. She was a historic preservationist, philanthropist, writer, and active in Texas politics. In the early 1900's, she began a campaign to raise seventy-five thousand dollars to save the Alamo from becoming a hotel, and because of this she was given the name the "Savior of the Alamo." Since only twenty-five thousand was raised, Clara donated fifty thousand dollars of her own money to the cause. The deed was made out to Clara Driscoll, but she bought the Alamo for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
NEISD opened Clara Driscoll Middle School in 1992. In 2012, in celebration of our 20th anniversary, several display cases were created in the school's main hallway, with historical artifacts to commemorate our namesake.

Our Cluster
Welcome to the MacArthur Cluster in the North East Independent School District. As a Driscoll Middle School School student, your child will establish a passion, curiosity, and foundation for life-long learning while nurturing their social and emotional skills. Outside of the classroom, your child can embrace what they love or try something new through diverse clubs, programs and organizations.
Your child will discover even more opportunities at Garner and Driscoll Middle School. As their academic foundation expands in the classroom, their circle of friends and experiences will grow through new opportunities in Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, competitive UIL contests, and more.
At MacArthur High School, your child will excel academically and socially while embracing beloved Brahma traditions with memories that will last a lifetime. Your child has the freedom and support to pursue their passions in a variety of programs, organizations, and clubs – from Athletics to JROTC, Band, Dance, PALS, Photography, UIL, and much more. MacArthur is proud to be the only Dual Language high school in NEISD with thriving bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural students. MacArthur is also home to NEISD’s unique magnet program MacUP. These future educators get a head start as a UTSA student and can graduate with more than 50 hours of college credit that goes toward their teaching degree.
There’s so much to discover in the MacArthur cluster. Thank you for choosing NEISD.
