Mr. Roberto Alfaro-Bermudez

My name is Roberto Alfaro-Bermudez, and I am originally from Costa Rica. I received my bachelor's in English at University of Costa Rica and my master's in Administration of Education at Universidad Metropolitana Castro Carazo in Costa Rica as well.

My educational background includes an in-service year in American literature at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, and two years in Japan studying the Japanese culture at Okayama University and Naruto University of Education.I have taught ESL in Costa Rica, Japan, and USA as well as bilingual education in Costa Rica and the US.

During my last 24 years, I have taught 2nd through 12th grade. I have also taught at the university level. During this time, I performed several duties such as ESL/Bilingual/General Ed Teacher, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher, and Expert Teacher Leader. I love teaching! It is my passion!

I also love languages. I speak Spanish, English, Italian and some Japanese. I'm currently studying Italian. I love Italy and everything related to it (culture, cuisine, art, architecture and its people). I love learning a language because it keeps me aware of what my students are going through. My next language will be French!

I know that my love and my heart will always be in education because I was born to be a teacher!
