Mrs. Aida Huitron-Perez

Hello, my name is Aida Huitron-Perez, and I'm the Bilingual Instructional Coach here at Jackson Keller Elementary. I’m so happy to be part of this amazing family. I’m an alumni from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated with my Bachelors degree as an EC-6th Bilingual Teacher in 2011. After some years of experience in the classroom, I decided I wanted to go back to college to get my Master degree. I received my Bilingual Bicultural Studies Degree with a Reading Specialist Certification. This is my first year working with NEISD. Before that, I was teaching at Northside ISD. I have been in education for 8 years. I have taught lower and upper grades, such as 1st grade, 2nd grade and 4th grade Dual Language.

About myself: I was born and raised in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Once I started High school, my parents decided to move to Eagle Pass, Texas, a small border town with Mexico. It was a difficult learning experience, since I had to learn a new language as a teenager. Even though it was a challenge, I can say that it was totally worth it because I'm proudly bilingual. My passion towards bilingualism started from my experience and the struggle that I had to overcome. Now, as a Bilingual Instructional Coach my goal is to empower and develop students to be bilingual, bi-literate and bicultural. During my free time, I enjoy doing arts and crafts. I love to paint with different materials such as acrylic, watercolors etc. I love to visit the beach and travel. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family in Eagle Pass as well as in Piedras Negras. My favorite food is sushi and my favorite drink is iced coffee or Dr. Pepper. My favorite stores are Target and Tj Maxx.

Hola, mi nombre es Aida Huitron-Perez y soy la Maestra de apoyo a la instrucción bilingüe de la escuela primaria Jackson Keller. Estoy muy feliz de ser parte de esta familia increíble. Soy una ex-alumna de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio. Me gradué con mi licenciatura como maestra bilingüe EC-6th Bilingual Education. Después de algunos años de experiencia en el salón de clases, decidí que quería volver a la universidad para obtener mi maestría. Así que recibí mi Maestría de “Bilingual Bicultural Studies" con una certificación como especialista de lectura bilingüe. Este es mi primer año trabajando con NEISD. Anteriormente, trabaja en el distrito de Northside ISD. Este es mi 8° año como maestra y he enseñado grados inferiores y superiores, como 1° grado, 2° grado y 4° grado Doble Sendero (Dual Language). 

Información sobre mí: Nací y crecí en la ciudad de Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Una vez que comencé la secundaria, mis padres decidieron mudarse a Eagle Pass, Texas, un pequeño pueblo fronterizo con México. Fue una experiencia de aprendizaje que fue difícil, ya que tuve que aprender un nuevo idioma cuando era adolescente. Aunque fue un desafío, puedo decir que valió la pena porque soy orgullosamente bilingüe. Mi pasión por el bilingüismo comenzó desde mi experiencia y de los obstáculos que tuve que superar. Ahora, como Maestra de apoyo a la Instrucción Bilingüe, mi objetivo es empoderar y desarrollar a los estudiantes para que sean bilingües y biculturales. En mi tiempo libre, disfruto hacer manualidades. Me encanta pintar con diferentes materiales como acrílicos, acuarelas etc. Me encanta visitar la playa y viajar. También, me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia en Eagle Pass y en Piedras Negras. Mi comida favorita es el sushi y mi bebida favorita es el café helado o Dr. Pepper. Mis tiendas favoritas son Target y Tj Maxx.
