Mrs. Tara Harris
My name is Tara Harris and I am the Dyslexia Teacher at Roan Forest. This is my 16th year of teaching in North East ISD and first year at Roan Forest. I previously taught students with dyslexia at Thousand Oaks and before that was a first grade teacher. I've also taught second grade. I myself am a product of NEISD as I attended Coker Elementary School, Bradley Middle School, and Churchill High School. I'm a graduate of Texas State University. Eat 'em Up Cats! My husband and I welcomed a baby boy named Logan in February of 2021. We have a rescue dog named Shadow.
A few more things about me: I love to read and cannot wait to foster that love of reading with your child! Some of my favorite children's books are the Piggie and Elephant series, Harry Potter, and anything by Eric Carle (just to name a few). I highly recommend Fish in a Tree for families who have children with dyslexia. I love the beach and anything water related! Chips and queso is my favorite go-to snack.
Please know that if you need to contact me, email is the best way. Looking forward to a great year!
I provide dyslexia therapy to small groups throughout the day.
